Robert Matthews

I had left Watervliet in 1974 for the military, where I spent my time in basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky with former classmate and now deceased classmate William Ruhl.
I promptly was sent to Fort Hood Texas for advanced training as a tank/wheel/generator mechanic and then, sent to Germany as part of Brigade 75 for 6mos. I returned and went for another 2 times before getting honorably discharged in 1981. During that time I briefly ran into William Ruhl again before loosing track of him for several years.
I briefly stayed in Watervliet for 1 year before moving to Ft. Lauderdale where I spent 5 years work for a department store called Burdines and Motorola building and testing 2-way radios.
I left Florida for South Carolina in 1987 and worked for the Tupperware Company (factory) and after being discharge/fired for "cleaning the clock" of a fellow employee whom assaulted me, moved on to various other jobs before starting to work for the SC Dept of Corrections until Sept of 2011. I left to drive a 18 wheeler and a few other jobs before returning to the SC Dept. of Corrections in May of 2004 where I still am employed and hoping to retire in who knows when.
This is my life up until 20 April 2021. Stayed tuned for updates (hopefully) of my retirement.
